About Dr. Rosenthal

Boston-Area Health Psychologist | Mind-Body Specialist | Collaborative Partner in Healing

Evidence-based mind-body therapy for chronic pain, anxiety, and stress

Collaborative, Whole Person Approach

I believe effective therapy begins with collaboration. If you’re dealing with chronic pain, stress, anxiety, or the impact of a health condition, our work will focus on helping you pause, observe what’s happening, and respond in more adaptive ways.

My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, biofeedback, and neurofeedback. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all plan, we build a working partnership grounded in evidence, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience. The goal is practical, sustainable change.

Why I Do This Work

For more than twenty-five years, I’ve worked with people who feel stuck in their lives. They struggle with physical, emotional, or cognitive barriers. Many arrive exhausted from trying everything. Others feel frustrated, anxious, or unsure what comes next.

What keeps me committed to this work is watching people rediscover their own capacity to adapt. I don’t believe in quick fixes or magical thinking, but I do believe there is room to maneuver. Whatever your constraints, there is a small but powerful space where growth becomes possible. My role is to help you find that space and use it in ways that support resilience and forward movement.

Credentials & Clinical Background

I earned my Ph.D. in developmental psychology in 1993 and have focused my career on integrating mind and body in therapeutic practice. My training includes:

I’m a licensed psychologist and certified health services provider. I’m board certified in Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback, and Quantitative Electroencephalography.

Experience & Professional Roles

I’ve worked in medical, academic, and community settings throughout my career, including:

This breadth of experience allows me to integrate evidence-based approaches in ways that are practical, coordinated, and tailored to each person’s needs.

Beyond the Therapy Room

In addition to clinical work, I supervise clinicians, offer professional consultation, and lead workshops on CBT, chronic pain, and psychophysiological approaches. My research and writing have explored managing chronic health conditions, self-concept, trauma, and the long-term effects of emotional stress. I continue to collaborate with healthcare systems, educational institutions, and organizations to support durable, skill-based approaches to well-being.

If you’re looking for a therapist who combines clinical depth with a collaborative approach, I’d be glad to talk. You don’t have to push through alone.

let’s explore what’s possible together.
